YourTango Internship

As an editorial intern at YourTango, I had the incredible opportunity to work with a publication dedicated to revolutionizing relationships and fostering a deeper connection between readers and their loved ones. YourTango’s mission centers on helping people create meaningful connections with friends, family, and the world around them while also promoting well-being and a sense of belonging. As an intern, I wasn’t just writing articles—I was contributing to that mission in a tangible way.

The editorial internship at YourTango involved a range of responsibilities. My daily tasks varied, but they always centered around creating content that resonated with the publication’s diverse audience. I was involved in writing articles on a wide range of topics, from relationships and mental health to self-improvement and lifestyle tips. Research was a key part of my role, ensuring that the content I produced was not only well-informed but also fresh, relatable, and accurate. I also helped edit and proofread articles to maintain the high editorial standards YourTango is known for. This taught me to be meticulous about grammar, tone, and consistency.

The internship gave me hands-on experience with the editorial process—from brainstorming article ideas to the final stages of publication. I had the chance to collaborate with editors and other interns, learning how to refine my writing to fit a specific voice and brand. One of the most valuable skills I developed was the ability to write content that speaks to readers’ emotions, encouraging them to connect with the material on a deeper level. Whether writing about the importance of self-love or exploring ways to improve communication in relationships, the goal was always to produce content that could help readers live healthier, more fulfilled lives.

My experience as an editorial intern at YourTango is teaching me much more than just the technical aspects of writing. I learned how to tailor content to meet the needs of a specific audience, how to communicate complex ideas in a clear and engaging way, and how to collaborate effectively with a team. Ultimately, my goal as an intern is not only to contribute to the mission of YourTango but also to walk away with a deeper understanding of editorial work and how to create content that resonates with people in meaningful ways.
